Triple T Tuesday!!

Hi and welcome to our first Triple T Tuesday!! On Tuesday’s we’ll share Tips, Trends and Techniques to help inspire your layouts!

This is Lisa (Kelseyll) and today’s tip is about using your handwriting in your layouts! When I switched from paper scrapping to digital that was one area I thought I’d have to sacrifice. I love to hand write special notes and letters to my daughter in her books. There are sites that will do it for you but may charge, and others that will create it with the understanding it will be made free on their site for others. I was thrilled when I came across this site where you can create your own handwriting for free yourself! You will need a printer and a scanner!
**UPDATED** Yikes, it has been brought to my attention that this site now charges about $10.00 and it didn’t when I got mine done! I will see if I can find another place that still does it free!! So sorry to be misleading; it wasn’t intentional!! =)

***Images in this post (except my personal layouts) were borrowed from their respective sites.***

Go to https://www.yourfonts.com/

1. Download the 2 page template form. I only used the first page as I don’t write European characters, but they are available! They show you on the site how to fill in your letters, symbols and numbers. Do as much or as little on the page as you want. You don’t have to fill EVERYTHING in.
2. Scan in your completed template(s).

3. Upload it to this site and it will magically turn it into a font and give you the download link! It’s THAT easy! =)

Here is my layout for the 4-1-10 template challenge on the Trixie Stars CT Blog. The journaling in the lower left corner is my handwriting. When I discovered how easy it was to make I decided to try getting grandparent’s handwriting too to put on my daughter’s pages of them together! Wish me luck with that! =) How fun would it be to have your child’s handwriting at various ages??? Hmmmm….I gotta get on that with Kaitlyn!! =)
Of course, I love a variety of fonts on my pages and FREE is always good, right? There are lots of places to find free fonts of all styles online, but these sites are a couple of my favorites to find good scrapbooking fonts! Images are linked. The third button (black) is a compilation of handwriting fonts that people had Kevin and Amanda do that are now available to the public for free!

Sugar Frog Fonts I get the cutest handwriting fonts at Fonts for Peas! kevinandamanda.com/fonts

Here is a layout with one of my new favorite handwriting fonts: Pea Lauren France. You can get it HERE.

I hope you enjoyed today’s Tuesday Tip article. Stay tuned because starting next month we will be launching our FUN FONT FRIDAY! It will be the first Friday of each month and will show off some new fonts and tips on using them! We encourage you to try these new fonts and techniques for the Trixie Scraps CT blog challenges!!! Can’t wait to see what you share with us!

I love the idea of capturing my children’s writing at various ages. DS is 5 and learning to write now. I can’t wait to do this with/for him.

**A note about the yourfonts website. They now seem to give you a preview for free, but if you want to actually create and download your font it costs around $10.
