Welcome to another Saturday here on the Trixie Scraps blog…I’m so glad you stopped by. It’s going to be a beautiful day in my neck of the woods, I hope you all are able to enjoy the day wherever you are! We are getting ready to head to the soccer fields for my son’s first game of the season. I can’t wait to see him out there on the pitch! Since it is opening day, I decided to focus this week’s Saturday with the Stars post on one of my favorite Trixie Scraps collections, We Love Soccer!

In addition to these great pieces, you can also pick up pre-made clusters and quick pages. I can not get over all the cuteness this one kit contains. I absolutely love the bright colors contrasted with the black silhouettes.
Get in the Game with the Scrap Stars
Let’s take a look at what some of our Stars have put together using this kit.
First up is Mary Kate. She used this kit for exactly what you’d think to use this kit for – her daughter’s first year playing soccer. What I love most about this layout is her blended photograph and that she selected some papers and elements to match her daughter’s yellow jersey. She then chose to use one of the silhouettes as a journal mat…brilliant!

Shauna also used this kit for a soccer themed layout. I love that she chose create such a wonderful border with all the flowers and foliage. I also love the added touch of using the soccer ball element in conjunction with the silhouette…great choice!

On my travels through the gallery to find these layouts, I came across at least three that I’ve done myself. My son has been playing soccer since he was 3. My daughter, his twin sister, played for one season…she’d rather dress up in frilly tutus and dance! For this layout, I tried to keep it simple with the colors and elements. I just love the large soccer goal and the mud splatters…he’s come home covered a time or two!

Don’t do the whole soccer thing? Don’t worry, there’s plenty of inspiration for you as well. Check out this layout by Stacy. From the looks of things (and my eyes may very well be deceiving me), it seems as if her daughter is holding a baseball/softball trophy. The papers and elements that Stacy chose show no indication of this kit being a soccer kit and that’s a good thing! It’s quite versatile!
