Hello Trixie Scraps fans, Laina here with another Masters Monday {Hybrid Edition}. February is just around the corner and you know what that means, don’t you? Valentine’s Day! This Valentine’s Day I challenge you to make something homemade for your love ones. Homemade truly can make any gift that much more special. I took my own challenge and even provided you with a tutorial to follow along. This adorable Valentine’s Day card features mini envelopes perfect for love notes!

Here’s what you’ll need:
Solid Cardstock (I used white)
Patterned Papers of Choice
Scissors and/or Paper Cutter
Bone Folder or other scoring tool
Adhesive
A black marker to jot down your love notes

For this project, I used papers and elements in Just One Kiss by Trixie Scraps as well as the Little Ladybug Bonus Alpha Pack for my title.

Directons:
1. Prepare your card base. I measured and design the front of my card in PSE. I made a grid like background with patterned squares. I then made a word art sentiment. I printed the card out on 8.5×11 white cardstock and cut it out, scoring on the fold line. Then with my black marker, I filled in one letter and outlined the rest for an extra touch.

2. Cut out 5 mini hearts, about 3 in. in width. Fold them into mini envelopes with the blank side facing you, using the guide below.

2a. Cut out five 3 inch squares from your solid cardstock.

2b. Score down the middle and draw your half of your heart outline. Then cut it out. Repeat for the remaining squares.

2c. Score and fold the curved outer edges of the heart towards the middle so when pressed out they overlap just a tad.

2d. Score and fold where the curves on the bottom meet. Then fold that flap back.

2e. Score and fold another line at the top, to form the triangle envelope flap. Now you have a mini envelope!

3. Glue each envelope to your card on top of the background grid. Your card is now complete. Don’t forget to write some mini love notes for each envelope and place them inside.

How cute right? If the recipient is far away, one idea is to place a stamp inside one of the envelopes and a note that says, “Write me back.”
