Saturday with the Stars {Presents Everywhere & Winter Carolers}

Hello there Trixie Scraps fans! I’m sure most of you are busy trying to get all of your last minute holiday preparations done, but today I want to be sure you take a moment for yourself to just relax. Sit down for a moment with a cup of coffee (or tea or hot chocolate) and let me share with you the two amazing new releases that came out this past week. Being December, they are both Christmas themed, but are strikingly different.

First up was Presents Everywhere, the release for this month’s Gotta Grab It sale over at Gotta Pixel. I love the modern feel to this color palette. It reminds me of the brightly colored wrapping paper to be found under the tree on Christmas morning. I love all the cute wrapping themed elements in this kit, from all the pretty ribbons and bows to the neat Washi Tape pack. This fabulous kit was made up of 6 individual packs,and you can pick all of them up at the Trixie Scraps store at Gotta Pixel. Lets take a look at some of the fun holiday pages the Scrap Stars created with this kit.

I love that big picture in the middle of this layout by Lori. That grin is just so infectious! The strip of red paper running down the left hand side almost mimics a ribbon, and is so nicely complimented by the cute little snowflake cluster at the top. I also really love the title work on this page. What a fantastic alpha.

Next up is this eye catching page by Mary Kate. The perfectly balanced clusters on this layout are what really drew me in. I love all of those festive evergreen boughs peeking out from above the photo and from the sides of the title work. The fun patterned paper works perfectly as a border on the top and bottom of that fantastic photo. This page has just enough going on.

Finally is this cute layout by Carrin. I love all the white space on this page, and the hints of the red and green papers poking onto the corners works just perfectly. Anchoring them with that adorable Washi tape was a fabulous idea. That is one scrapping trend that I just can’t get enough of, it makes such a neat fastener. The stacked paper cutouts behind the photos really draws the focus to the center of the page, and that little label makes a fabulous title.

Now we’ll take a look at a more vintage holiday kit, Winter Carolers, which was released for this month’s Grab-A-Byte sale at Scrapbook-Bytes. I love the warm, cozy feel of this color palette, and the combination of lace, wood, and nature elements in this kit really give it a traditional vibe. The collection is made up of six individual packs, and you can grab them all at the Trixie Scraps store at Scrapbook-Bytes. The Scrap Stars fell in love with this kit, so lets see a few of their awesome layouts.

This layout by Shawna really shows off just a couple of the gorgeous papers in this collection. I really love how rich the colors look on this page. The series of photos is such a sweet way to capture a holiday tradition, and all of those evergreen sprigs and flowers clustered between the photos look stunning. I really like the hint of lace peeking out from beneath the photos too.

The central photo on this gorgeous layout by Stacey truly captures the magic of a Christmas tree for me. What a precious moment to have caught on film. The warm tones in the photo are perfectly accented by the colors in this kit. I really love how she has used the wood grain paper on the central panel of this layout and then accented it with that great plaid. The title work here looks almost like it is carved into that wood.

The thing about this page by Erica that caught my eye is the fabulous use of white space. It is a technique that I love, but struggle with applying to my own layouts, so when I see someone else create a stunning page with lots of white space, I like to share. Everything about this page works, from the blocks and strips of patterned paper behind the photos to that simple pine cone hanging down from the top of the page over the date tag. And once again, there is nothing that says Christmas more than a few evergreen twigs. What a great way to show off a couple of lovely family photos.
