Make it Hybrid Monday- July 18

Hey Everyone!

New Hybrid Star Teri here with my first post. I love making cards to give to people and I’ve gotten involved with a wonderful organization called Operation Write Home which sends blank, handmade cards to our soldiers abroad to send home to their families. Each Sunday on their blog, they share a sketch. Yesterday’s (July 17) was very simple and I decided that Trixie’s new kit Black Tie Event would make a fantastic card!!

First I cut the pieces I needed. This sketch required one 5×2.5 piece of paper and 3 identical elements along with a sentiment.

I decided to make the 3 elements flowers using a method I found on youtube.com. Basically, you cut out (or punch out) 3 larger and 3 smaller flowers. Layer them and put a brad into the center. Starting with the top layer, spray some water to dampen the paper and scrunch it up. Do that with each layer, then flatten out a bit into a flower shape. Let dry and use! The flowers are a template from Kelleigh Ratzlaff and the papers are Black Tie Event {Papers Pack}.

The 5×2.5 inch rectangle is from Black Tie Event {Worn Glittered Damask Papers}. I decided it should be torn. So when I printed it, I printed a rectangle of 4×6. Then I just tore away what I didn’t want.

Now, it’s assembly time! I used plain white cardstock for the main part. The sentiment is a stamp I have and stamping ink, of course.

Here is my finished project:

I hope you enjoyed my card! Can’t wait to see your hybrid projects!
