Make It Hybrid Monday

Happy Monday and welcome to another edition of Make It Hybrid Monday. This week, we will be learning to create an acetate box that you’ll be able to use for all of your upcoming holiday and spring needs.

To start, you will need a sheet of acetate or transparency cut to 8.5×3 as well as two 3×3 pieces of cardstock or patterned paper. You will also need a bone folder, adhesive, hole punch and ribbon.

With the 3×3 pieces of cardstock, you will want to score each side by 1/2 and cut each corner horizontally to create four tabs. Add adhesive to each of these tabs, fold in and create a tray.

With the acetate/ transparency, you will want to score the sheet every 2 inches and leave .5 inches at the end. Add adhesive to the .5 inch section and adhere it to the opposite side of the acetate/ transparency. Then, add adhesive to the bottom of the acetate/transparency and insert into one of the previously created trays.

On the top of your acetate/transparency, punch two holes on either opposite side. Put the second previously created tray at the top of the box and note where the two hole punches are. Remove the top and punch the same corresponding holes in the tray. String the ribbon from the outside of the tray to the side of the clear box through to the other side and back through the top of the tray.

Fill the box with sweet goodies and tie the ribbon. Feel free to decorate the box as you would like. I’ve used Trixie Scrap’s newest release, Croaky Kisses, to decorate my box this week.

This project can be used for any type of occasion and holiday season so we can’t wait to see what you come up with! Until next time, happy hybrid!
