8 Days of Christmas, part eight

Hi and Merry Christmas Eve! Wow, I can hardly believe Christmas is almost here! I hope you are all done with your Christmas preparations and can turn your attention to enjoying the holiday with those you love most πŸ™‚ This afternoon, we’ll be headed to my in-laws to spend Christmas Eve with them. Tomorrow, we’re hosting Christmas Day here at home with my relatives – I’m looking forward to the family time!

Now, just a couple people left me comments with a link to a layout using one of my kits. I picked names from a hat and Christie (Christie’s Digi World) is my second winner of the FREE Santa’s Workshop kit! Congrats, Christie, and thanks for sharing the link to your layout – I loved seeing it! As a matter of fact, I love it anytime you all share links with me, so please feel free to do that anytime! Christie, please email me with your email address so I can get back to you with your coupon code!

I decided I want to give my Santa’s Workshop kit away to one more lucky person. How do you win today, you ask? Well, I’d love to hear about your favorite family Christmas traditions. What do you and yours love to do to celebrate? Leave me a comment and you just might be my winner! And do you know that just today I realized I never introduced my Santa’s Workshop kit properly? Blame it on the holiday craziness – I thought I posted a preview, but I never did! So, just so you know what you are trying to win… lol. Here is a preview of Santa’s Workshop (images are clickable).

And finally, the alpha!

My favorite tradition is our annual drive to look at Christmas lights. When I was a child, my parents took me and my siblings to do this every year. There was one particular house we always LOVED to visit – the gentleman who owned the house was reputed to be an Elvis impersonator and he had a HUGE yard completely covered (front and back) in lights, lawn ornaments and Christmas decorations. He even had a Marilyn Monroe figure on his roof! It was a delightfully tacky spectacle that we children found to be nothing short of magical πŸ™‚ Now that I am married, I have continued the tradition with my husband (which was a tradition in his family during his childhood, too). Since hubby runs a retail business and this is a crazy time of year when one is in retail, we don’t always get around to our Christmas light viewing on the same day every year – but, we always manage to squeeze it in somewhere and it is one of my favorite traditions. Christmas just wouldn’t be Christmas without a trip to see the beautiful light displays around and about πŸ™‚

OK, so send me comments with your favorite traditions for the final opportunity to win “Santa’s Workshop.” And without further ado, here is your Day 8, and final, mini kit download. I truly hope you’ve enjoyed the kit and that in my own small way, I was able to impart some of the magic of Christmas to you. Merry Christmas!!

    That’s a great tradition!

My fav that just sortof happened is I usually get my gifts from hubby on the 23rd :} lol

My favorite one with my kids, that we did when growing up, is opening a gift on Christmas Eve. I’ve changed it from something silly, to pajamas. My kids never seem to have enough! Or I don’t do laundry enough. πŸ™‚

Merry Christmas tracy! Thanks for all you do!

We always spend Christmas Eve at my MIL’s home. The kids all come home every Christmas Eve to catch up, eat and just enjoy each others company. We have cold cuts and chips plus every part of the family brings it’s special appetizer to add to the feast. A ham ball with crackers, some sausage balls, a relish tray and cheese tray. Cookies galore and even some rumballs for good measure. We all open gifts, we all enjoy the time spent together. I usually give everyone a gift of Fudge and Holiday Fruit Drop cookies. I don’t go out spending a lot of money, I do spend a wee bit of time on my extended family by baking the cookies and making the fudge, and to me that’s what is important. It truly is better to give thaan receive, at least for me it is. Merry Christmas everyone.

Wow…gorgeous kit! I go crazy at Christmas as it’s my all time fav holiday…I love everything about it and my first born little girl was born on Christmas day which I was thrilled about! Anyway I have many traditions at Christmas, one is when the elves come to visit us Christmas Eve and leave a little gift for my 2 little girls…this gets them excited!! Then we bake cookies and yummy treats on Christmas Eve listening to festive songs and wearing our festive hats and aprons, then we sprinkle reindeer food on our lawn so the reindeers are guided to our house, then we watch a Christmas movie eating all our baked goodies….just perfect!! Merry Christmas to you and your family from the Marriott household πŸ™‚ xx

Thanks for the great kit. One of my favorite traditions is Christmas morning breakfast. We have done it since I was little, and now my own family goes to grandma’s house for a wonderful morning together. We have egg casserole and danish, chocolate milk, Juice. We all love spending the morning together.

Thanks for the kit! I enjoy the lights too, but don’t put them up on our home. Is that hypocritical? Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve Gift!! That’s our Holiday tradition. I’m not sure when it started or why we even do it but every Christmas Eve that I can remember we’ve all tried to be the first one to say “Christmas Eve Gift” to each of our family members. I guess it’s supposed to bring good luck or something.

The wonderful thing about this holiday tradition is that in such a busy time it causes us to call each of our family members that are away or drop by to see those who live close just to beat them in saying “Christmas Eve Gift!” Which always leaves us visiting with each other for a while. So in this busy time with Christmas day right around the corner, we take the time to visit with family and reconnect.

By the way, I LOVE the new kits you’ve put together! I can’t wait to take a million pictures tomorrow to use all the neat goodies you’ve given. Thanks so much!

Trixie, thanks for this cuteset little freebie. I can’t wait to scrap! Our favorite tradition is new jammies on Christmas Eve. Both my husband and I had that when we were growing up and now we do it with our four girls.
    Have a Very Merry Christas!

My favorite Xmas tradition is now that the kids are all grown and out of the house – they all gather here with their spouses/significant others and children to spend the night. We wake up in the morning with the sound of children’s footsteps in the morning going down the stairs to see what Santa has left and we have a big Christmas breakfast. It is loud and chaotic and absolutely Wonderful – 5 kids and 5 spouses and 8 grandkids – absolutely PERFECT!!

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful kits!

I had to laugh when I read your Christmas plans because they sound identical to mine. Except, with all the snow we’re having, I’m not sure we’ll be going anywhere tonight.

The thing my kids and I have made a tradition is baking cookies and leaving a few out for Santa – with a glass of milk, of course.

I hope you have a Merry Christmas!

Thanks for the wonderful gifts! I love your new Christmas Kit too! My favorite tradition is baking Christmas cookies with my daughter and my mom…then my daughter picks out her favorites to leave for Santa (along with a glass of milk, of course)! Happy Holidays to you and your family!

Thanks Tracy! Your Santa’s Workshop kit is loevely!

My favourite family tradition is decorating the tree. I know it’s cliche, as everyone does it, but for me it’s the start of the festivities, and I lvoe it. We always get a real tree, so the house smells lovely.

Thanks for the treats, and Merry Christmas!

Yay thank you so much, I am so excited. You made me day, today is always a bad day cause my cousin died on Christmas Eve, so it puts a damper on the holidays. I am very thankful for you picking my name. Also thanks for today’s download.

One thing we do every year on Christmas Eve is go look at light, but this year we aren’t able too cause there is a bad storm and you can’t see the road to drive. But we got to do the rest… we bake cookies for Santa and the boys decorate them. Then we snuggle by the fire and read Christmas stories and drink hot coco.

Thank you so much for todays download:) Merry Chrsitmas!!! Our favorite family tradition is making homemade carmels with the kids. It is a 3 1/2 hour cooking process and then they get poured into a jelly roll pan for 24 hours to cool. Then Daddy cuts the caramels, Mommy cuts the wax paper and the kids roll. We have been doing this for 11 years now and after they are all rolled and of course checked by quality control…they are baged and delivered to all of our friends and neighbors. We have quite a long list of friends after 10 years. LOL

Well, I think you know most of my traditions, but just in case here is one that is sort of unique to my crazy family…. After dinner we all do photo’s in front of the tree but about 25 years ago my mother’s cousin’s college boyfriend (now husband) always took one picture of our feet when we did not notice with our camera. It was always fun to develop the rolls of film and find the footy picture Bill took- it is something we still do each year even in the age of digi I know what slippers Aunt Helen was wearing in the 89 lol!
